Beaches for Beginner Surfers
As a newbie to surfing, here are some pointers on how you can find an ideal spot to learn the ropes before hitting the big waves.
Some people might feel intimidated to try out their fresh skills out in the open where all the other hard core surfers and fans of the activity can watch. That is why it is advisable for you to find a not so crowded area where you will not be a hindrance to other surfers, but where you can still catch nice waves. Also, keep in mind that you should choose a location where it is not rocky, unless you want to end up getting into an accident. Big waves are also a no-no until you have mastered your skills.
Your best choice is to bring your board to point breaks where there are less people and to slow mushy turfs where it is sandy below. Keep in mind to never go out into the water alone and without a lifeguard on duty. You can also ask your friends who are expert wave catchers or your personal surf guru to paddle you to safe practice spots.
